About the Role:

As the Residential Manager, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and leading a new team committed to supporting young people on their journey. Your expertise will be crucial in reviewing and assessing referrals from the Local Authority, ensuring each young person receives tailored care that meets their individual needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership & Development: Hire, train, and manage a dedicated team, ensuring they are equipped to provide exceptional care. Collaborate with senior management to foster a cohesive and supportive team environment.
  • Referral Review: Work closely with the Local Authority to assess and review referrals, ensuring that young individuals are matched with the right care.
  • Transition Support: Facilitate smooth transitions for young people entering the home, creating and implementing personalized care plans focused on their unique needs and aspirations.
  • Compliance & Audits: Conduct monthly audits and maintain meticulous records to ensure adherence to all regulatory standards, including managing home finances and keeping accurate paperwork.
  • Team Communication: Promote open communication within your team by holding regular meetings, providing supervision, and ensuring that all members feel informed and supported.
  • Staffing & Rotas: Manage the home's rota system to ensure consistent staffing, with schedules issued in advance.
  • Regulatory Standards: Ensure all regulatory documentation is completed accurately and promptly, with reports recorded and submitted to the relevant parties.
  • Professional Liaison: Attend all professional meetings, maintaining high standards of communication with external stakeholders to ensure timely report submissions.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure all health and safety requirements are met, creating a safe environment for both staff and young people.
  • Safeguarding: Promptly report and record safeguarding concerns, prioritizing the safety and well-being of both young individuals and staff.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
  • NVQ Level 4 or 5 in Residential Child Care or equivalent is essential.
  • Proven ability to independently lead a team while following instructions and staying on task.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build trust and credibility as a reliable team member.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
