Job description

PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

Our clients are recruiting for a full-time Production Assistant to join their team in turning raw materials and components into products ready for sale.
Salary 12ph. Note this is a temp to perm opportunity.
Key responsibilities for the Production Assistant include,

  • Assisting with transfer of liquid to and from IBCs and tanks
  • Working on the manual and semi-automatic bottling lines, including loading, filling, labelling, and packing into cases
  • Ensuring a high standard of quality control at all times, particularly fill levels, labelling and capsule application
  • Assembly of gift packs
  • Loading, labelling and wrapping pallets
  • Preparing stock for collection by customers and hauliers
  • Unloading deliveries
  • Driving the van to collect and deliver raw materials to local storage warehouse
  • Assisting with training of agency and part time distillery workers
  • Assisting with production data record keeping
  • Adherence to safe working practices and health and safety legislation, including always wearing the correct PPE
  • Ensuring basic knowledge of HACCP and SALSA standards and ensuring they are maintained in production areas
  • Cleaning of distillery equipment, floors, and surfaces
  • Keeping stock rooms and storage containers tidy and well organised
  • Movement of stock and raw materials on site using forklifts and pallet jacks

The ideal Production Assistant will need,

  • Ability to work efficiently and safely at pace to keep to tight production schedules
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Attention to detail
  • A tidy and organised approach is essential
  • Warehouse experience is essential
  • Forklift license desirable
  • Able to use common sense and initiative
  • Team player with a good sense of humour
  • Flexibility to work extra at weekends or evenings during particularly busy times
  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle essential due to location, free on-site parking

Hours - full time 37.5 a week, Monday to Friday
