Job description

Seeking a Repairs Surveyor to join a registered social housing provider based in Surrey.

Hays Property and Surveying are seeking a Repairs Surveyor to join a registered social housing provider based in Surrey.
This registered social housing provider has over 7,000 homes under management located across the Surrey / Sussex region, with a particular focus along the A23 / M23 corridor. Due to a foreseeable increase in workloads, their Responsive Repairs team are now looking to expand its headcount and appoint three additional Repairs Surveyors to join the company.

The roles are being offered on a hybrid working basis, with an expectation to split your time between their Surrey Head Office, on-site and home. Travel to properties located across the entire stock portfolio should be expected on a daily basis.

Your new role
As a Repairs Surveyor, you will hold a crucial role in managing your own caseload of responsive repairs across the housing stock. This will include a particular focus on the inspection, diagnosis and scheduling of repairs related to damp and mould issues. You will be responsible for providing efficient and accurate advice, alongside managing work on-site, ensuring it is completed on time and to the appropriate compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities include -

  • Conduct property inspections and assess repair needs.
  • Schedule and coordinate reactive maintenance and repairs across the housing stock portfolio.
  • Undertake damp and mould surveys to identify and address issues.
  • Manage in-house contractor teams on-site and ensure work quality and compliance standards are adhered to.
  • Maintain accurate records, including report writing, and communicate with residents with updates on work progress.
  • What you'll need to succeed
    • HND/HNC qualification or higher
    • Previous experience of working as a Repairs / Maintenance Surveyor.
    • Experience of undertaking property surveys and diagnosing damp and mould issues.
    • Experience of managing a variety of reactive maintenance works within a social housing environment.
    • Sound knowledge of building trades and site health and safety.
    • Excellent communication, organisation and customer service skills.
