Assistant Product Manager
Location - Redhill
Main Purpose of Job
This role will suit a graduate that has a technical degree with some commercial and customer acumen. The individual needs to understand the company's technology and be able to translate that into a commercial product offering which is customer and benefits lead and can be articulated easily to customers as well as internally.
This person will work closely with the Technical Product Manager and Commercial product Manager to assist with the production of our clients offerings and working with the sales channel throughout our clients Group and with key customers across our different geographies.
To be a subject matter expert for all the companies products and services. Cobham, Iridium, Inmarsat and other manufacturers and satellite operators and ensure the sales teams and other company departments across the Group are kept up to date with all current and future services and market offerings.
Key Tasks
Ability to produce or translate technical content into customer/ benefits led output including white papers, brochures, application notes, user guides, technical service updates and input for press releases etc. (working with Communication Manager who has responsibility for external messaging)
In liaison with the Marketing Communications Manager, Commercial Product Manager and Marketing Executives ensure suitable and up to date marketing and sales collateral, user guides, FAQ's and sales benefits and fact sheets.
To assist the Communications Manager and Commercial Product Manager assist in the product marketing launch of new products and services incorporating marketing literature, sales presentations, FAQ's, User Guides, Internal process documents, terms and conditions and sales benefits and fact sheets.
Assist in driving new products or services across the company (including engineering, marketing, logistics and support) through market requirements and positioning.
Working with the Technical Product Manager and Commercial Manager and Systems Engineering teams to perform product evaluations and provides technical product expertise in launching new products and services internally and throughout the company.
Support sales with customer meetings, demos and events
Requirements capture for internal and external software development projects.
Project Management of in-house projects
To conduct internal training course for both sales, support and other relevant back-office functions.
Product competitor analysis and comparison to be used for internal and external purposes.
Working with the Technical Product Manager to develop the customer interfacing systems with requirement specifications, testing, user guides and global deployment.
Experience/Skills/Qualifications
Mandatory
Technology degree
Good knowledge of IP networking
Excellent written and verbal skills
A professional and flexible approach
Requirements capture and application
Project Management concepts.
Flexible, customer focused and self-motivated and team player
Willingness and ability to learn quickly
Intermediate level or above with Word/Powerpoint/Excel
Must be organised, methodical and a good multi-tasker.
Can do attitude
This job might require occasional travel.
Desirable
Familiarity with modern IT systems
Exposure to operating systems (Linux, Windows)
