CHEF - CONTRACT CATERING - WOKING

NO LATE NIGHTS - 40 HOURS A WEEK

1 IN 3 WEEKENDS

£13.25 per hour

Shift Pattern:

Early: 0500 - 1330

Late: 1200 - 2000

We're looking for a dedicated Chef to join a great team working for a well-known contract catering company based at a unit located in Woking this is a high volume site as well as the day to day numbers and catering there will also be special functions throughout the year.

You will need your own mode of transport due to the location & early shift starts

Location: WOKING -

Salary: Up to £13.25

Shifts: 40 HOURS A WEEK, STRAIGHT SHIFTS, 5am until 1:30pm OR 12pm until 8pm (latest finish)

This role is offering straight shifts and a great work/life balance. Working around 1 in 3 weekends, 40 hours a week shifts being either early which is 5am until 130pm and the late shift is 12pm until 8pm

Required skills include:

  • A strong understanding of produce and ingredients
  • Great organisational and interpersonal skills
  • An ability to work unsupervised and consistently deliver quality work, and to monitor your own performance and that of your colleagues/team
  • Experience of a variety of kitchen environments and cuisines
  • A good working knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) at all levels
  • Knowledge of food production methods
  • Positive and approachable manner

Duties will include:

  • To take some responsibility for all elements of the kitchen including preparation, cooking and presentation of food to agreed standards.
  • To supervise catering staff.
  • To set and maintain standards.
  • To ensure the kitchen is kept in a clean tidy and hygienic state.
  • To deputise for the Head Chef
  • To liaise with customers, to ensure all dietary requirements are catered for.
  • To receive training that is necessary to maintain and improve the standards of the establishment.

To be successful, you'll need to have:

  • Previous experience as a Chef
  • Food Hygiene certificate and Food allergen training
  • Knowledge of health and safety issues (COSHH etc) - further training can be given
  • A real passion for hospitality and delivering great service
  • Able to remain calm and composed in challenging situations
  • Team player and able to work in busy environments
