Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant

Swansea

32000PA Negotiable Plus bonus

The Company

This Swansea based organisation supply fire alarms and related products to their extensive customer base. Their quality products are well renowned in the industry and supported by excellent service and delivery. They are continually adding to their product range to keep up with new technology and innovations. Excellent opportunity to join a company in a growth phase offering a newly created role.

The Role

The position is permanent, full time and you will work on-site at their Swansea based premises. Hours of work are 08:30AM - 05:00PM Monday to Thursday and finishing early at 04:00PM on a Friday

This role is to provide full accounting support to the directors.

Duties will include:

  • Working on SAGE Accounts completing books to balance sheet
  • Sales Ledger & Purchase Ledger
  • Debtors and Creditors
  • Matching goods received notes with delivery notes
  • Purchase invoices from the suppliers
  • Posting accounts transactions onto SAGE
  • Update computer purchase ledger and sales ledger balances
  • Email customers their invoices and ledger statements
  • Chase debtors for any overdue balances
  • Ensure the supplier ledgers on SAGE reconcile to supplier statements
  • Undertake filing of purchase invoices and sales invoices in numerical order
  • Communicate by email with suppliers and customers
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations on SAGE
  • Process BACS payments as instructed by directors
  • Run and submit a monthly VAT return on SAGE

Requirements

The successful applicant will have the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Previous experience in handling the full accounting / bookkeeping function
  • Sage 50 or experience on a similar accounting package as well as general computer literacy
  • A responsible person able to work with minimum supervision
  • Team player with an inclusive work style
  • Flexible and willing to assist the team where ever required
  • Solid attention to detail with a methodical approach to their work
