Quality Engineer Role

Purpose of the Quality Engineer

This role will involve supporting all Quality Assurance activities across the site. You will be responsible for the development of parts & processes, creation of QA documentation and maintenance of associated QA systems to satisfy all ANPQP and business requirements.

The person that is recruited for this role will make a significant contribution towards the improved performance of these products. This will involve working closely with major suppliers & the project team members within the organisation.

Main responsibilities of the Quality Engineer

  • Manage QA responsibilities of New Product Launches.
  • Provide a key customer liaison to communicate part development countermeasures (PDR) in agreed timescales.
  • Support part development, through all aspects of the joint check process.
  • Represent the QA department within new model project teams, working closely with other functions and Customers.
  • Ensure ANPQP/IATF16949 documentation and standards are maintained throughout the new model process.
  • Co-ordinate metrology responsibilities for the entire site, to ensure all inspection standard and QVCC requirements are completed in line with ANPQP/EPMS expectations.
  • Clear interpretation of requirements relating to technical drawing and standards.
  • Support of continuous improvement activities such as kaizen and PHA.
  • Coordinate the submission of supplied part ANPQP and part approval.
  • Support the new launch related activities, such as SOP ramp up activities, Gate review Management, Shipment Judgement Meetings, etc

Requirements of the Quality Engineer

EDUCATION (SCHOOL/SPECIALISATION): Ideally Qualified to minimum of HNC level in an appropriate discipline or equivalent level of experience

Relevant Quality Engineer Experience

  • Must have experience working in automotive manufacturing and or plastic injection moulding
  • Self-motivated, proactive thinker and possess excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills
  • Excellent understanding of all aspects of ANPQP management and the systems and processes that support this.
  • 5 years high volume manufacturing experience, preferably including IBU parts and associated assembly.
  • Work effectively as part of a team
  • Good IT Skills (Microsoft Applications)
