Job description

Role Purpose

The Maintenance Control Engineer will ensure that all plant and equipment is maintained to a fit-for-purpose standard. They will be responsible for supervising maintenance service procedures and ensuring that machine downtime is minimised.

Delivery

Assist with the set-up and operation of planned preventative maintenance procedures.

Undertake planned preventative maintenance as required.

Ensure that breakdowns are responded to in a prompt and efficient manner.

Assist with the set-up of emergency procedures for machine breakdowns.

Understand and execute defined emergency procedures in the event of machine breakdown in order to minimise downtime.

Assess and minimise risks associated with maintenance issues.

Ensure all software is backed up and stored correctly.

Ensure that clear work instructions are available for key equipment.

Adhere to Company policy, operating to defined procedures and work instructions.

Be aware of and ensure compliance with applicable Health and Safety regulations.

Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to analyse downtime and overall equipment effectiveness.

Perform any other duties as reasonably requested by the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor.

Collaboration

  • Liaise with customers and suppliers at all levels as and when needs arise.
  • Build effective client relationships, ensuring that the image of Leadec presented suitability represents the high standards required by the Company.

Empowerment

Gain a clear understanding of customer quality standards and operate within audit process that ensure both Customer and Leadec expectations are met.

Moving Forward

  • Recommend improvements to working processes or equipment where opportunities arise, undertaking or assisting with their implementation where requested.
  • Co-ordinate and provide feedback on process and equipment improvements to the appropriate authority.
  • Drive continuous improvement to continuously improve services to our customers.

Essential

  • Formal qualifications in electrical and/or mechanical engineering
  • Experience of operating within an emergency repair situation
  • Knowledge of fault finding/programming ABB robots and Siemens PLCs
  • Knowledge of fault finding/programming Fanuc Robots
  • Experience of handling customer complaints and queries face-to-face
  • Experience in an electrical and/or mechanical engineering role
  • Knowledge of applicable Health and Safety legislation
  • Experience of supervising contractors and effectively sharing knowledge
  • History of prioritising and planning activities, working to defined systems.
  • Demonstrable experience of accurately solving technical issues

  • Demonstrable aptitude for problem solving
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and to support staff to do the same
  • Computer literacy to an intermediate standard in Microsoft applications
  • Energy, enthusiasm, commitment, and desire to achieve goals.
  • Ability to support and motivate individuals and teams
  • Desire to satisfy the needs of the customer whilst maintaining the needs of the business.
  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimal guidance and supervision
