Position: Senior Engineer
Location: West Bromwich
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per year (DOE)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm

Our client, a market leader in the access equipment rental and provision industry, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join their team in West Bromwich. The Role:
As Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day workshop activities, leading a team of engineers, and ensuring the highest standards in equipment maintenance and safety. Your technical expertise and leadership will be critical to maintaining efficient operations and upholding the company s reputation for service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure a safe and compliant working environment, adhering to all Health & Safety protocols.
• Conduct fault-finding, servicing, repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of powered access and material handling equipment.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering collaboration and a high-performance culture across all depots.
• Perform routine service and preventative maintenance on all machinery and equipment.
• Accurately complete and manage supporting documentation, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
• Collaborate with the Depot and Management teams to source spare parts, ensuring cost-effective and timely repairs.
• Coordinate breakdown calls and dispatch mobile engineers to customer sites.
• Maintain comprehensive service records in line with company policies.
• Ensure all machinery is kept in a serviceable, clean, and presentable condition.
• Manage the damage recharge process and ensure prompt resolution.
• Drive productivity to meet and exceed company performance targets.
• Represent the company professionally, ensuring excellent customer interactions and upholding the company's values.
• Provide KPI statistics and performance data to the Engineering Manager as required.

About You:

• Proven experience in a similar role within the construction or equipment rental industry.
• Expertise in plant equipment, diesel engineering, auto electrics, hydraulics, and diagnostic fault finding.
• Ability to work well under pressure, with excellent problem-solving and task prioritisation skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
