Job description

Our client has an exciting opportunity for an Asset Development & Manufacturing Support Chemist to join our collaborative team in Hull. This is a full-time role that comes with a favourable salary and you'll join a friendly and welcoming team.

As their Development and Manufacturing Support Chemist, you will be accountable for identifying and supporting the application of process chemistry changes to reduce variable cost, de-bottleneck plant capacity and improve reliability as required by business needs and detailed in the Asset Improvement Road Map.

In your first few weeks in this Development and Manufacturing Support Chemist role, you can expect to:

  • Deliver regular chemistry health reports to help maintain safe, efficient and reliable operation within the existing asset capability
  • Work closely with the asset engineers and Technology Support Team to ensure alignment, support delivery and lead deployment onto the asset of the technology development programme outputs
  • Provide day-to-day support with respect to asset development activities such as plant optimisation and production rate trials.

To apply for this Development and Manufacturing Support Chemist role, you will need relevant experience in a similar role, including:

  • A degree (or higher) in Chemistry or a relatable field
  • Five years of industrial experience
  • Advanced experience and knowledge of the application of process chemistry in optimising the industrial manufacturing process, technology developments and project delivery
  • It will be advantageous if you have experience in acetyls and syngas process technology.
