Highways and Civils Design Project Manager

My client are a successful consultancy based in Huddersfield who develop quality concepts across design through to delivery of complex multi-million pound projects. Working within Highways Engineering and Programme Management, they are well supported by their dedicated Project Management Service across the UK. Due to further workload, they are seeking a Design Project Manager to join their Highways & Civils team

You will have an in depth knowledge of Highway Design Standards and Drainage Design and be comfortable with financial budgeting and contract administration. You will have experience of working with and managing retail clients on retail construction, and redevelopment projects and be comfortable with project management and strategic planning

The role involves the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of highways and car parks to ensure safe and cost effective transportation of people and goods for a varying client base. The role of Highways Engineer within the company involves looking at all areas of development, from inception to delivery, of various Construction / Retail related projects around the UK.

The job requires the managing of all retail construction / redevelopment projects in a live environment and involves the setting of measurable objectives and timelines of all elements within the projects; and managing other consultant disciplines and contractors to ensure delivery to cost, time and quality standards. You will also assist with the management of other design teams, cost management consultants and contractors to ensure timely completion within company budget and timelines, as well as those of the client.

As there will be some client and site meetings, a full UK driver's license is required for this position.
