Clinical Psychologist for Children's Residential Service
Location: Hessle, East Yorkshire
Salary: £300 - £400 per day
Contract Type: Freelance/Consultant
Hours: 4 days per month

Are you a compassionate and skilled Clinical Psychologist with a passion for working with vulnerable children and young people? We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Psychologist to join our team at a well-established Children s Residential Service in Hessle, East Yorkshire.

About the Role:

As the Clinical Psychologist, you will play a key role in providing psychological support to children and young people living in our residential service. You will be responsible for assessing and addressing the emotional and psychological needs of the children in our care, helping them to overcome challenges and build resilience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct psychological assessments and develop tailored therapeutic interventions for children and young people.
  • Provide individual therapy and support to children who may be experiencing trauma, behavioural issues, or emotional difficulties.
  • Work closely with the residential staff to ensure a holistic, trauma-informed approach to care.
  • Advise on best practices for managing challenging behaviours and provide staff training where necessary.
  • Collaborate with social workers, educators, and other professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to the child s care plan.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
About You:
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) and HCPC registered.
  • Experience working with children and young people, preferably in a residential or care setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development, trauma-informed care, and therapeutic techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and build trust with children, staff, and families.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the individual needs of the children in our care.
