Job description

Head of Contracts & Supplier Relationship Management - Public Sector

Salary: £75,000-£80,000 + car allowance + package

Location: UK Remote (option to base yourself in the nearest UK office if preferred, including London, Manchester, Birmingham, Sheffield, Leeds, Edinburgh, and more)

This is an exciting opportunity to pioneer a brand-new role within the senior leadership team of a leading healthcare solutions provider. This organisation, one of the largest in the UK, is embarking on a journey to strengthen its contract management and supplier relationship management (SRM) capabilities-a crucial area that has been underdeveloped in their current structure.

They are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking leader to establish and drive this new function. As the Head of Contracts & SRM, you will be responsible for setting up and shaping a strategic approach to contract management and supplier relationships, an area previously neglected in favour of sourcing and framework activities. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building teams and functions from the ground up and who can coach and mentor others through this transformation.

Given the evolving landscape within the healthcare sector, this role will be pivotal in addressing existing weaknesses and ensuring the organisation's readiness for future challenges. Your prior experience in SRM and contract management within the public sector, particularly within the NHS or healthcare sector, will be highly valued, though broader public sector contract management experience will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the establishment of a new SRM and contract management function within a large and complex public sector organisation.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance supplier relationships and ensure robust contract management practices.
  • Build and mentor a new team, driving high performance and professional growth.
  • Navigate the specific challenges of healthcare procurement, leveraging your understanding of NHS frameworks and healthcare regulations.

You will be joining an award-winning employer with a strong track record of developing and retaining talent. This role is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned professional to make a lasting impact on the organisation's future.
