K.A.G. Recruitment have been instructed to support our client, one of the largest Private Label Petfood producers in Europe supplying quality pet products to the major supermarket and retail chains to recruit a Research & Development Specialist to join their existing team in Denmark.

Job Title: Research & Development Specialist
Location: Denmark
Salary: Competitive
Hours: 37.5 Hours per week Monday to Friday

Purpose Of The Role:

As the Research and Development Specialist you will work closely with the central Research and Development team and all cross functional departments at site and Group level to ensure all NPD and internal projects are delivered on time and in full against the project plan.

Duties:

  • Share NPI briefs with the site and coordinate feedback, organise meetings for discussion if required.
  • Organise and attend product and packaging trials. Collect samples to send for lab testing and customer/group review when requested.
  • Organise palatability trials when requested.
  • Develop detailed reports on trials and circulate to site and group teams where relevant. To include recommendations on whether further trials are required.
  • Coordinate recipe introduction and sign off to ensure they are correct
  • Work with specification and artwork technologist to provide details for specifications
  • Ensure all NPD recipes and packaging run efficiently in production and there is a formal handover of new products to site operational teams.
  • Participate in site and Group NPI.
  • Carry out Innovation projects on site to support group strategy where required
  • Work with site departments, GM and Development & Innovation Manager on continuous improvement plans and value engineering projects to benefit the site.
  • Support Group teams with recipe amendments based on raw material availability.
  • Participate in site audits to cover clauses specific to R&D function and responsibility.
  • Responsible for review and approval of new raw materials, and suppliers
  • Participate in customer visits and presentations where required. as part of group approval process
  • Management of site product portfolio.
  • Support customer queries and complaints related to Recipe Design
  • Ensure thorough knowledge of relevant legislation within the R&D remit.

You will ideally be educated to degree level in a Food Science, Nutrition related discipline with commercial experience from within a Manufacturing environment. A strong communicator with exceptional organisation skills and problem-solving ability who has the capability to work to deadlines within a rapidly changing environment.
