Job description

Are you enthusiastic, inspiring and seeking to begin a career in Education? I'm keen to speak to you!

GSL Education are seeking individuals who are looking to build their experience of working with children and in schools as Teaching Assistants. We are looking for passionate individuals who are wanting to build a career in working with children and can offer full or part time and flexible days across Bridlington, Driffield and Scarborough. As a Learning Support Assistant/Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of different schools and with children of different ages and abilities. You do not need any qualifications! We will provide you a Level 2 Teaching Assistant certificate, FREE for individuals with the right experience but you must have the drive and passion to make a difference to the lives of children. You will mostly be working alongside the class teacher to provide support to the children and in some cases on a 1:1 basis. The needs of the children can vary, and in some cases the children may have learning difficulties.

The role of a Teaching Assistant can be a challenging one so patience, a friendly approach and a good sense of humour are required. If you have dreamed about working with children, or stepping into education I would love to get you your first steps onto your journey!

The main duties as a Teaching Assistant will include:

  • Supporting the pupils in their education
  • Supporting and managing behaviour in line with school policies
  • Working with the class teacher to implement academic or social interventions
  • Supporting and delivering creative and innovative lessons
  • Using formative and summative assessment
  • Supporting with or assessing phonics following the school s chosen program
  • Promoting independence with life skills
  • Providing an outstanding level of safeguarding and pastoral care

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be proactive, energetic, kind and caring
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to go through the process with us)
  • A fully checkable work history
  • Must have a driving license or be willing to use public transport to traverse Hull's delightful transport systems
  • Candidate must be in good mental and physical health and also must be a resilient and reliable individual
  • Must be able to work with vulnerable and challenging pupils in a school environment.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and the successful applicant must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.

If you would like to begin your career in education or as a Teaching Assistant in Bridlington, Driffield or Scarborough please submit your up-to-date CV via the application link or reach out to Thomas Peck at the GSL Hull office on (phone number removed) or email me to (url removed)
