Hays Construction & Property are working alongside a growing Contractor & Developer in recruiting for a Grants Officer to join their team. With significant growth and investment planned for 24/25 and beyond, this is a fantastic opportunity to join this organisation. These are Build Mid/High Rise Developments within the social housing sector.
Please note - knowledge of the Affordable Housing Programme (AHP) is essential for this role

Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Leadership team, you will manage and assess grant stages, progression of applications and establish procedures and controls for acquiring and implementing grant funding.

  • Ensure compliance with procedures and controls; monitor spending to ensure contract compliance and departmental accountability.
  • Track and progress and expenditures of the grant through various programmatic and financial reporting procedures.
  • Use performance metrics per the grant agreement. Implement and reconcile the grant's completion while following all closeout requirements.
  • Prepare and submit compelling funding applications showcasing our vision and potential.
  • Maintain and update the grants register.
  • Monitor and report on funding outcomes, including under-spend, risks of over-spend, project extensions.
  • Assessing funding applications received, undertaking due diligence and make recommendations to the grants panel.
  • Producing high-quality documentation for all panel meetings including providing the panel with accurate and timely data to support decision-making.
  • What you'll need to succeed
    Knowledge of the Affordable Housing Programme (AHP) knowledge and Greater London Authority is essential for this role
    You will have experience assessing grant applications, and proven success in writing compelling, high-quality funding applications. You will be skilled at presenting complex project information in a clear and engaging way and have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to read and interpret legislation, understand grant processes and procedures and understand local Government are desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience in grants management frameworks and program delivery in local government are an advantage.
  • Experience of developing applications for major funders and local authorities as well as smaller grants, trusts and community funding opportunities.
  • You have proven experience developing and implementing grant programs responsive to the communities they intend to serve, including developing systems and related operating procedures.
