The Materials and Structural Analysis Division (MSD) enables customers to find meaningful answers to questions that accelerate breakthrough discoveries and ultimately change the world. We design, manufacture, and support a broad range of high-performance microscopy and spectroscopy workflows on wafers and single chips that provide images and answers in the micro-, nano-, and picometer scales. We combine hardware and software expertise in electron and ion microscopy with deep application knowledge in the materials science, life sciences, electronics, and natural resources markets. How will you make an impact?
As an Operations (Electrical) Engineer, you will work with a passionate and hardworking team in Eindhoven working with our ground-breaking Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM)! This is an opportunity to join our fast-growing, dynamic Equipment Team within Operations Engineering where we ask you to focus on designing, installing, maintaining and managing our factory auxiliary equipment fleet.
This role will allow you to support the manufacturing of TEM systems but also work multi-functionally with different departments and extending support for related business critical projects.
What will you do?
• Supporting the factory in addressing the complex electrical equipment issues, with connections to PLC/PC software, as well as vacuum and pneumatic systems.
• Supporting the equipment team in creating, maintaining, and expanding the factory's tooling fleet.
• Supporting user documentation (TPD) and work instructions (WI's), both regarding Manufacturing Tooling.
• Supporting or leading NPI projects according to Product Management Process (PMP) and multi-functional Operations improvement projects
• Defining required maintenance plans for tooling and manage a stock of critical spare parts to ensure equipment uptime.
• Providing support in the assembly area, system testing and training of factory and service personnel as required
• Submitting or implementing engineering changes to improve quality, manufacturability, costs of components/modules. How will you get there?
• A degree in a technical field such as Engineering (BSc Electrical (electrotechniek) / Electronics engineering), or a combination of engineering education and meaningful work experience that demonstrates required skills
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience on similar functions, preferably in tooling / test environment (e.g. electronics/ electromechanical auxiliary systems and applications).
• Experience as a Service or Maintenance Engineer for OEMs or machine builders is a plus. •Knowledge of and experience in PLC / PC based tools and installations; hardware setup and programming languages. Evaluating, advising and testing of third-party supplied applications.
• Have affinities with PC based test systems and implemented software applications.
• Electro technical installations in general, knowledge of required safety certifications.
• Creativity to innovate customized electrical factory tooling and related processes
• Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with a strong focus on attention to detail.
• Have excellent English language skills (verbal and in writing). Speaking proficient Dutch is preferred due to communication with regional suppliers and manufacturers.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a hands-on mentality and practical approach
• Ability to cope with the dynamics in a manufacturing environment with a smile!
