Zero Emission Controls Engineer:
The control engineer has knowledge of state-of-art modelling techniques and control theory. You are able to transfer this knowledge into appropriate algorithms and models which integrate/operate powertrain components in their most optimal way in the truck. Having extensive knowledge (or willingness to build-up this knowledge) of Zero-Emission Powertrain Components and Automotive high voltage systems is expected.
You will be developing control functions in a multidisciplinary team and take the lead in defining the control function architecture. Additionally, you design and realize (parts) of control functions for a wide variety of powertrain components (e.g. e-Drive control functions, hybrid powertrain control functions, energy management, plug-in charging algorithms, and BMS control functions for high voltage batteries such as; SoX algorithm development, balancing, and etc.).
Your challenges:
Play the role of architect for new powertrain control function development;
Collaborate with PACCAR global teams to collect (division specific) function requirements and translate these requirements into state-of-art control concepts;
Design state-of-art control concepts in Matlab/Simulink and verify algorithms and models by means of SIL and HIL verification as well as Rapid Control Prototyping in a real vehicle;
Establish a smooth interaction with PACCAR global stakeholders:
Initiate, coordinate and report periodically the progress of your projects;
Structured handover of your control functions to the Embedded department.
Maintain relationships with external partners (supply base, research & educational institutes) to leverage knowledge and keep your control skills up-to-date.
Functie-eisenYour profile:
MSc or PhD Degree in Control Systems Engineering;
Extensive knowledge of Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow and related control toolboxes;
Proven track-record in control function development for automotive (electrified powertrain) systems;
Educated in writing functional requirements in a clear, simple and unambiguous way;
Testing and validating the functional requirements and control design in MiL, SiL and HiL at component and/or system level;
Expertise in Functional Safety and Cyber Security is preferred.
English language is a must.
