Your Tasks Act as a technical expert in the field of welding engineering and NDT, providing advice and guidance to the project team and influence and improve the technical decision-making process through expertise, guidance and interaction with other disciplines to ensure technical objectives are met and to reduce the need for rework and corrective actions; Review and evaluate welding & NDT related documentation and procedures to ensure full compliance with required specifications and standards and implementation of best practices; Review and evaluate design changes, specification revisions and deviations to ensure compliance to the Project Management of Change (PMOC) processes and to maintain compliance with Project and regulatory standards; Supporting project quality teams (including vendors, fabrication yards, offshore and onshore construction) in implementing welding and NDE aspects of the Procurement and Construction Surveillance Programs, and for ensuring the effective implementation of Contractor’s welding control activity in line with COMPANY Standards; Assist and support Quality teams throughout procurement and construction phases of the project in implementing Welding Quality Program that includes:; Reviewing Contractors, Subcontractors and Vendors Inspection & Test Plans, quality control procedures and testing procedures relating to Welding & NDE; Participating in meetings with Contractors and subcontractors where required to discuss and assist in resolving welding and NDE quality issues; Assist Contractors in establishing Welding & NDE training programs to mitigate common welding defects; Assist in failure investigations and root cause evaluations concerning welding related defects and advising suitable NDE solutions; Assist in ensuring appropriate application of requirements, oversight and interpretation of manufactured items occurs; Participate as required by Project Quality teams with: Deficiency Management Program to ensure that deficiencies and non-conformances relating to welding quality & NDE are identified, recorded, investigated and resolved to maintain compliance with project requirements; Quality Audit Program to confirm that welding quality & NDE activities are conducted in accordance with agreed plans and implemented thereof; Lessons Learned Program to actively and continuously capture learnings from welding quality & NDE activities and to use them to develop and optimize process or specification improvements as part of continuous improvement; Issues and Risks Program relating to welding quality & NDE and ensure that issues and risks are captured and treated promptly and effectively. Maintain interfaces, in conjunction with: Procurement, Fabrication, Installation & Construction Teams: To ensure that welding quality & NDE issues are resolved promptly and effectively; Material Engineer: To ensure the review and approval of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Qualifications (PQR), Testing and NDE Procedures, and resolution of welding quality and NDE issues, specifically for Subsea and onshore pipeline scope; Project Management Team: To provide feedback on key welding quality & NDE issues and performance; 8. Conduct other welding or NDE activities as sought by Head of Materials/ Project Management. Your Profile 10+ years of experience in offshore flexible / Umbilical/cable engineering with at least 5 years demonstrated senior engineering experience in major capital projects; Minimum of 3 years experience with cable/umbilical's design, manufacturing and installation; Experience with EPC contractors, sub-contractors and vendors involved in the oil and gas industry; Bachelor Degree in Civil, Marine, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
