Job description

Duties Serve as a member of a Special Reaction Team. Perform missions in a highly stressful and physically demanding environment. Conduct preliminary investigations of obvious crimes or other security breaches such as unauthorized presence, threats, robbery, or assaults. Respond to emergency calls. Apply maximum security measures in safeguarding items of critical importance. Prevent unauthorized or inadvertent entry into a limited/exclusion area, which utilizes multiple overlapping protection systems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires a SECRET clearance. This position requires a pre-employment drug test, random drug testing thereafter. This position requires a pre-employment physical and mental examination and undergo annual physical and mental examinations to ensure fitness for duty. This position requires a Criminal History Background Check. This position requires new hires to pass the Physical Agility Test. This position requires certification for the Individual Reliability Program (IRP). This position requires possession of a valid State issued motor vehicle license. This position requires successful completion and passing of a semi-annual weapons qualification test. This position requires successful graduation of the USAMPS accredited police academy (or receive a USAMPS waiver) within one year of hire. This position requires successful completion of Police Officer training and annual re-certification. This position requires successful completion of CPR and First Aid certification and annual re-certification. This position requires the employee to wear the DACP/DACG uniform IAW AR 190-56 and maintain a high state of appearance and hygiene. This position requires the employee to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. masks. This position requires success completion of Field Training Officer (FTO) program. This position requires the employee to be a United States citizen. This position requires successful graduation of the USAMPS Phase I SRT Course. This position requires successful graduation of the Basic Traffic Accident Investigation Course. This position requires Shift Work. You may be expected to travel for this position 25% or less. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience which includes Experience in performing a full range of police operations, in preventing and resolving crime, including conducting preliminary investigations of incidents, apprehending persons fleeing a crime scene or attempting to resist arrest, causing disturbances and providing visible protection and law enforcement. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-06. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
