Job description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Specialist in Safety, Health, and Environmental (SH&E) to join their team. This role involves implementing and maintaining comprehensive SH&E programs, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and overseeing best management practices in a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in emergency planning, integrating safety and environmental programs, and providing training to employees and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain SH&E programs that ensure compliance with regulatory obligations in a cost-effective manner.
  • Conduct inspections and oversee the best management practices to minimize SH&E risks.
  • Participate in emergency planning activities and integrate safety, health, and environmental programs within the manufacturing environment.
  • Prepare reports and studies for submission to regulatory agencies.
  • Assist with hazardous material and waste management, groundwater remediation, air emissions reporting, wastewater reporting, and environmental sustainability initiatives.
  • Supervise and coordinate SH&E projects, providing leadership and guidance to project teams.
  • Perform other duties and job responsibilities as assigned.

Skills Required:

  • Previous experience with hazardous waste management.
  • Knowledge of SH&E regulations (OSHA, RCRA, DOT, ADEM, EPA) and modern SH&E management principles.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong project management skills and familiarity with audit processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic knowledge of Safety/Health & Environmental Management Systems (ISO 45001/ISO 14001 requirements).
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to coach and consult with management to build a culture of excellent SH&E performance.
  • Experience facilitating meetings and working groups.

Experience Required:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Safety/Health and/or Environmental roles within a manufacturing, industrial, regulatory, or consulting environment with increasing responsibilities.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Safety, or a related field.

Pay Range: $32.00 - $42.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
