Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team. This position offers an opportunity to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and utilize advanced clinical skills to provide exceptional care to patients across various clinical settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' functional abilities, including activities of daily living (ADLs), fine motor skills, cognitive function, and psychosocial needs.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and in collaboration with patients, caregivers, and healthcare team members.
  • Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions aimed at enhancing patients' independence, mobility, and overall quality of life.
  • Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, adaptive equipment training, and environmental modifications as part of treatment plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment strategies as needed to achieve therapeutic goals and optimize outcomes.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, safety practices, and home exercise programs to support continuity of care and promote long-term wellness.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated patient care and maximize treatment outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Alabama.
  • CPR certification (BLS).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working as an Occupational Therapist in a healthcare setting, preferably in rehabilitation, acute care, or outpatient services.
  • Specialized training or certifications in areas such as hand therapy, neurorehabilitation, pediatrics, or geriatrics.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and documentation practices.
