ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The General Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the component repair shop, ensuring operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. This role will involve strategic leadership, managing staff, optimizing processes, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in aerospace component repair and a proven track record of driving operational success in a technical environment.
POSITION OBJECTIVES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
To ensure safe operations, drive profitability, and strategically grow the component repair shop
ESSENTIAL TASKS/DUTIES:
- Monitor the shop's financial performance, control costs, and achieve profitability targets through effective budget management.
- Ensure smooth, efficient workflow in the shop, including managing schedules, staffing, and resource allocation and adherence to regulations are at the forefront of all operations.
- Provide leadership to entire team and assist frontline managers/supervisors in providing leadership to their direct reports - Hire, train, and mentor staff to optimize productivity and maintain high-quality standards.
- Implement lean processes and continuous improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and reduce turnaround times.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Oversight of Drug and Alcohol program with zero deficiencies
- Oversee the quality of all repairs, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with the applicable Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs) and manufacturer's specifications.
- Ensure the FAA is notified of any Suspected Unapproved Parts (SUPS).
- Identify opportunities for business development, expand services, and collaborate with the sales team to grow the customer base.
- Additional duties as assigned.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Proficiency in budgeting, financial analysis, and managing P&L to drive profitability and cost control.
- Strong understanding of managing day-to-day operations, optimizing workflow, and ensuring process efficiency.
- Knowledge of industry safety standards and regulations (e.g., FAA, EASA) with the ability to enforce protocols and maintain a safe work environment.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
- In-depth understanding of aerospace component repair processes.
- Experience with implementing lean practices and continuous improvement methodologies to streamline operations.
- Ability to identify growth opportunities, expand services, and contribute to long-term business planning.
- Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Extensive experience within the aviation and aerospace MRO industry and experienced executive at an authoritative and executive level.
CERTIFICATES PREFERRED: FAA Airframe or Repairman Certificate
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position has 5 or more direct reports and is responsible for overall branch performance.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a professional office environment >70% of the time, and must be willing to travel for customer visits and industry tradeshows/conferences both domestically and internationally as required.
