Job description

The Technical Services Engineer primarily supports the Aftermarket Service team by providing technical analysis and approved actions to correct equipment malfunctions. Areas of expertise include: electrical, electronic controllers, programming, hydraulics, and mobile equipment. This position works closely with all engineering disciplines (including the Test Lab), Supplier Quality, Manufacturing and directly with Customers when needed. Evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards. Interact with department managers and other personnel to ensure that the final products meet international quality standards. Assist Field Service Technicians in solving Field Service issues by doing technical research, defining troubleshooting steps, and communicating with others both internally and externally to determine solutions. Work with Warranty Department and Supply Chain to determine source of repetitive warranty issues. Conduct high level troubleshooting for hydraulic and electrical systems. Assist in the development of Troubleshooting Trees for both internal and external use. Participate in the review of Safety and Service-related material to be published, this includes Service Manuals, Service Bulletins, and other distributed materials. Participate in Heil Product Training material reviews. Participate in Service Bulletin audits and reviews prior and after released to dealers and customers. Participate in any training on products/components used by Heil which is furnished by suppliers. Participate in any internal New Product or Product Update reviews. Participate in any Departmental Field Service Technician training development and presentation. Full time employment, Monday Friday, 40 hours per week. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Employer requires a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 2 years of experience with product design. Of the required experience, must have: 2 years of experience with Hands-On Trouble-Shooting mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems on mobile equipment; 2 years of experience reading and designing hydraulic schematic on mobile equipment; 2 years of experience with 3D CAD; 2 years of experience with Creo 3D; 2 years of experience reading and understanding Engineering Drawings and associated Dimensional Tolerancing; and 2 years of experience analyzing data from datalogging equipment for mobile equipment.
