Job description

BlueHalo is seeking a subject matter expert (SME) that is familiar with the United States government acquisition process. This person will advise on acquisition strategies to support intellectual property (IP) practices and policies implemented in support of U.S. government development and sustainment of complex, highly technical weapons systems and related software. RESPONSIBILITIES Provide IP and cross-functional acquisition expertise, advice, and assistance in developing, promulgating, and implementing IP policy, guidance, and training in the areas of law, contracting, program management, product support, engineering, finance, and workforce training. Provide specific support by reviewing and advising on specific programs and systems Support all engagements, directives, and reporting requirements Identify and recommend available techniques and best government and commercial practices for acquiring, licensing, and managing IP early in the acquisition process On a day-to-day basis, the SME will be responsible for reviewing acquisition program documentation and offering approaches that encourage customized IP acquisition strategies based on the unique characteristics of the system and its components, the product support strategy for the system, the organic industrial base strategy, and the commercial market Provide subject matter expertise across acquisition functional including cost estimating, product support planning, acquisition strategy development, and on industry IP practices and support initiatives BASIC QUALIFICATIONS DoD Secret clearance is required. 10+ years of experience with DOD acquisition process Demonstrated experience advising on and being involved in the negotiations and performance of large-scale, complex technical products Demonstrated experience advising on and being involved in the negotiations and performance of software licenses Demonstrated capability to engage with senior DoD personnel, develop recommendations, and provide professional written or verbal assessments and correspondence supporting policy Demonstrated experience leading working groups or teams of teams involving finance, contracts, technical, and legal SMEs DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Past experience advising OEMs on current programs Past experience advising on data rights for complex systems-of-systems WORK LOCATION & SCHEDULE This opportunity is located at Redstone Arsenal/Huntsville, Alabama You must be on site every day/5 days a week (this is NOT a remote or hybrid role)
