We support customers with Centers of Excellence in Washington DC, Huntsville, AL and Burlington, MA with an additional 36 locations across the U.S. Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Assembler and Fabricator for the Field Maintenance Activity (FMA), supporting the Army Division. The FMA contract supports the US Army and National Guard units by rebuilding and resetting tactical Calibration Sets (CALSETS) van and trailers. Also, install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems. JOB DETAILS LOCATION: Huntsville, AL JOB STATUS: Full time TRAVEL: 0% REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS High School diploma or GED 2- years of experience to include HVAC repair/reconditioning Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants) Familiarity of physical reconditioning, rebuilding, reintegration, and painting of hardware. RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as Assembler and Fabricators technician performing physical reconditioning, rebuilding, reintegration and painting of hardware and ancillary components of DoD shelters and tactical vans. Capable of reading and understanding schematics, blueprints, and technical data. Skilled in Controls and Instrumentation, Equipment Maintenance, Manufacturing, Manufacturing Quality, Mechanical Inspection Tools, Tooling, Safety Management, Power Tools, Judgment, Decision Making. Inspect and maintain HVAC systems to ensure they operate efficiently. Cleaning ducts and filters and checking for leaks. Refilling refrigerants, lubricating parts, and fixing drainage. Adjusting system controls for optimizing system performance. Troubleshooting systems and identifying problems.
