Position Summary Odyssey Systems is seeking a Capture Manager to support growth in our Aviation Group. The prime responsibility will be capturing strategic new business programs for Army and Air Force aviation markets. Duties include providing input to the corporate strategic plan, identifying and pursuing business opportunities and strategies that fulfill the corporate strategic vision, and executing the plan. Responsibilities include management, coordination, and facilitation of a multi-disciplined team comprised of Odyssey employees from various sites and Odyssey subcontractors that may be comprised of large and small businesses. The Capture Manager will work closely with the Executive Director, Aviation and Director, Huntsville Area Programs, and report directly to the Executive Director, Growth. This is a full-time hybrid role based out of our Huntsville, AL office or our Dayton, OH office. Responsibilities Duties include, but not limited to: Leadership and execution for the success of all assigned capture efforts. Identify and evaluate desirable opportunities for the corporate funnel and pipeline. Gather, assess, and validate customer requirements. Identify customer needs, concerns, and constraints that impact winning solution. Translate requirements into a win strategy, advance strategy with a strong value proposition and differentiate bid elements based on compelling features and benefits. Support the proposal development process by providing necessary capture artifacts to the proposal team and participate in the Kickoff and color team reviews. Define conceptual solutions and strategies for winning each opportunity including the initial theming/storyboarding efforts and transition the capture artifacts to the assigned proposal team. Develop, document and execute the capture management plan and associated strategies for each capture program including but not limited to: conducting requirement analysis, competitive analysis, capability assessments and gap analyses for capture programs, prime vs sub analysis, price to win analysis, teaming plan, call plan, and other components of a successful capture program. Conduct timely reviews of programs throughout the capture lifecycle, including stage reviews to the Executive Leadership team and functional managers. Analyze post award feedback and recommend improvements to the capture process. Develop and document customer, partner, and competitor profiles. Significantly contribute to meeting or exceeding the annual sales and profitability goals as established by the company each year. Work with the Executive Director, Aviation on strategies for short-, mid- and long-term goals and brief the Executive Leadership team at offsite meetings. Contribute to expanding Odyssey's reputation and industry engagement. Travel to appropriate conferences and customer sites (estimated 25-50%, local and CONUS, depending on opportunities and conference schedules) Qualifications Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Minimum Required Qualifications Clearance: Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance Education: Bachelor's Degree in a Business or Technical Discipline Years of Experience: At least three (3) years of previous business development/capture experience in aviation markets and management experience in the delivery of technical and management services Preferred Qualifications Clearance: Active Secret Clearance Education: Master's degree Years of experience: Ten (10) years of previous business development/capture experience in aviation markets and management experience in the delivery of technical and management services Technical Skills Aviation business development and capture experience Familiarity with aviation in the DoD space Familiarity with Federal government operations execution and acquisition processes Familiarity with DoD (Air Force, Army, Navy) Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E), Engineering, Acquisition Management Services, and Logistics Support to keep aircraft-based weapon systems at the ready. Experience with various proposal types (HTRO, technical narratives, and oral presentations) Ability to develop relationships, expand customer intimacy, and contribute to Odyssey corporate Growth Strategy Ability to assess and develop strategic plans and energize others to achieve related goals. Ability to negotiate NDAs and Teaming Agreements. Proven capabilities with capture strategies, tools and processes, including capture/customer relationship tool, stage/gate reviews, solution sessions, Black Hats, PTW analysis, etc. Exceptional ability to comprehend technical RFIs and RFPs. Previous business development experience supporting and writing major proposals. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) Proficient with capture/customer relationship tools/processes Interpersonal Skills Leadership Entrepreneurial mindset Planning, Organizing, Directing and Controlling Strong communication skills Ability to maintain and gain new customer relationships Ability to react quickly in a rapidly changing environment to motivate and manage team/partners. Ability to work effectively with a broad range of people with a wide variety of technical skills and experience.
