Major Duties: Serves as a subject matter expert providing high level technical and operational support in all aspects of video evidence from acquisition to processing and storage.
Conducts briefings, prepares reports, and communicates with Unit/Section management orally and in writing.
Researches, develops, and evaluates new equipment, software, and procedures related to the field of video and image analysis. Provides guidance and direction in resolving technical/administrative issues and potential challenges.
Identifies operational needs that can be answered with video/image analytics, and delivers solutions in the form of technology and services. Qualification Requirements: All candidates must meet the basic requirements specified under A or B below. A. Successful completion of a 4 year course of study in an accredited college or university bachelor's (or higher) degree in physical science, biology, chemistry, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science such as mathematics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics. OR B. Completion of education and experience - education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above requirements provided you can show foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States. Specialized Experience (SE): GS-14: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level. SE is defined as follows: Experience articulating a vision, giving guidance, and directing others to accomplish goals. Experience and knowledge of the capabilities and operations of digital multimedia (image/audio/video) in FBI investigations. Experience and knowledge of policies and procedures in applying technology and automated processes to digital evidence for investigative lead generation. Experience in oral and written communications to report results of examinations and provide expert opinion testimony or to deliver briefings. Experience in evaluating new equipment and software tools to be used in the analysis of multimedia (image/audio/video).
