This position requires a talented and experienced Hardware /Integrated Systems En gineer to lead and contribute to a n engineering team within a larger, multidisciplined team to perform the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process, including analysis/feasibility, planning/requirements, design, system development, testing, deployment, maintenance, evaluation, and disposition/disposal. The Hardware Engineer will be required to lead and contribute to space payload structural, thermal, and mechanical analysis throughout the SDLC process. The Hardware Engineer will be required to manage the space payload hardware baseline and Size, Weight, and Power ( SW a P ) profiles throughout the SDLC process. Responsibilities Lead the hardware engineering team and provide hardware engineering Subject Matter Expertise (SME). Develop design criteria, collaborate on requirements, rapidly iterate on designs and analysis to inform system trade studies , and drive space payload optimization. Perform structural analysis to identify bus non-compliance and perform iterative analysis with the bus-provider to optimize performance and reduce implementation/integration risk. Perform component interface analysis to ensure alignment and prevent connector reliability issues and any integration-induced connector strai n. Perform environmental and performance testing on hardware to validate analysis and demonstrate design criteria and requirement compliance. Collaborate with multidisciplined engineers , including Radio Frequency ( RF ) ; Positioning , Navigation, and Timing (PNT) ; and Electrical Engineers ; on complex physics problems. Establish and manage the space payload hardware baseline and corresponding efficient supply chain throughout the SDLC process that balances cost, complexity, and quality . Lead a team design, develop, and evaluate electronic hardware components and systems. Lead the various stages of the hardware development lifecycle, from conceptualization and design to prototyping, testing, and production. Perform other duties as assigned.
