Job Title: Senior Network Engineer
Location: Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898 Clearance Level: Active DoD - Secret
Required Certification(s): DoD IAT Level II Selected applicants may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. SUMMARY A full range of information technology (IT) support services is necessary to satisfy enterprise missions, goals and objectives in the areas of IT Services, Enterprise Design/Integration/Consolidation, IT Education/Training, IT Program/Project Management, Systems Operations and Maintenance, Network Support, and embedded Information Systems Security, Cyber Security and Information Assurance to the Program Executive Office Aviation (PEO AVN) Information Technology Support Services. DUTIES Network design, development, implementation, operations, and maintenance. Manage a small team of network engineers. Diagnose and repair interconnectivity issues between other interconnected Local Area Networks (LANs)/Wide Area Networks (WANs) and communications networks, both Unclassified and Classified. Provide network monitoring, testing, management and administration services required to maintain and re-engineer all existing and future PEO networks. Provide cutting edge mission network solutions utilizing voice, data and video networks comprised of both classified and unclassified networks, and Standalone systems. Provide network management for mission telecommunication networks (e.g. LAN), utilizing state-of-the-art techniques and protocols that adhere to best industry practices, security regulations, policies, and guidelines. Design, develop, install, configure, and optimize network infrastructure components and devices to include firewalls, Intrusion Detection System (IDS)/Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), Active Directories, switches, routers, hubs, bridges, cabling, fiber optics, and network operating systems. Conduct analysis to determine the best approach for implementing Network Load Balancing (NLB) for virtual environments, and mission applications. Analyze customer requirements and provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate complexity. Perform maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks. Maintain network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintain system backup and recovery capability. Maintain the security and authorization of the network, as it relates to mission network support and operations. Coordinate hardware and software acquisition. Create plans and configures systems for data communication networks. Support the design and build of hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks. Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
