Regular Full-Time (40 hrs/week)

Pay: $17 p/h, starting pay can increase depending on experience

Work Hours:

  • 7:30am - 4:30pm, Monday - Thursday
  • 7:30am - 2:00pm, Friday

Breaks

  • 10:00am - 10:15am
  • 2:30pm - 2:45pm each day (except Fri. afternoons)
  • Lunch, 12:00pm - 12:30pm



POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Sets-up and performs layout to assist Welder to bond components and fabricate metal assemblies.
  • Measures and plans layouts, position, align, and fit components together for assembly of modular ambulance boxes.
  • Bolts, clamps, fits, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
  • Operates welding machine to produce trial workpieces, used to examine and test.
  • Positions and adjusts fixtures, attachments, or workpieces on machine, using hand tools.
  • Adds components, chemicals, and solutions to welding machine, using hand tools. Devises and builds fixtures used to bond components, during the welding process.
  • Examines metal product or assemblies to ensure specifications are met. Performs repairs by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling of parts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

CONDITIONS & EQUIPMENT

  • Working Conditions - typical production environment: hot/cold/dusty.
  • Equipment Operation
  • Operates drill, router, rivet gun, jig saw, drill press, shear & break machine, radial arm saw, milling machine and plasma torch.


Work Experience

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have at least 1 year of set-up experience with aluminum MIG welding. CNC experience is helpful.
  • Automotive environment background is a plus. Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings and written instructions.
  • Educational - HS diploma/GED preferred. Must be able to read and write.
  • Must be able to accurately read a tape measure.
  • Must have good hand/eye coordination.
  • Must be able to communicate well and work closely with Welder to stay "one step ahead."
  • Must be willing to occasionally work last minute overtime.

MUST have the following basic tools:

  • Wire cutters
  • 25 ft. tape measure
  • Chisel
  • Allen wrench
  • Ball pean hammer
  • Crescent wrench

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to push and lift up to approximately 50-80 pounds. This position involves manual labor using assigned tools. The position requires the individual to reach, lift, stand, kneel, bend, stoop, and twist to accomplish tasks. Individuals will be in various "positions" throughout the workday.
