Cypress Employment has a client in Mobile, AL in need of an Operations Manager- Aerospace.
Job Description - Unit Leader (UL) (M/F) in Mobile, AL
Mission(s):
Supervise a set of services (Production, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, )
Be the direct hierarchical supervisor of the Operation teams
Assume, by delegation of the sector manager, responsibility for the activities of different services or the department in the absence of the sector manager.
Activities:
Management:
Implement an organization in line with the services for which you are responsible;
Trigger alerts to the support team, back-up;
Control the entire service;
Be the primary and close contact for the Client;
Manage and oversee the staff under your responsibility in compliance with rules and procedures, also taking into account the internal regulations of DAA; enforce these regulations;
Ensure that the work is performed in accordance with the specifications and regulatory framework;
Ensure site safety;
Ensure sufficient organization to guarantee service during vacation periods;
Lobby with referenced or potential decision-makers;
Organize regular meetings with the RP / OL;
Ensure the alignment of skills/activities, participate in the validation of qualifications with service managers and the SQ;
Implement and manage the global SQCDP (Security, Quality, Cost, Delivery & People);
Participate in HR reviews;
Manage the subcontracting related to the activities under your responsibility;
Be responsible for FOD (Foreign Object Damage).
Management:
Implement and coordinate in a timely manner the technical, material, and human resources necessary for the smooth functioning of the activity (purchase requests and orders);
Schedule and authorize the access of an external service provider to the workstation.
Human Resources Management:
Ensure the safety and monitoring of all personnel within your scope;
Control the forecast and weekly attendance and absence schedules to ensure continuous activity (sufficient personnel volume, replacement, etc.);
Handle pre-recruitment by analyzing CVs and interviewing candidates after selection;
Submit job opening requests to the Sector Manager;
Handle temporary staff requests (initial and renewals);
Ensure proper management of overtime;
Verify the accuracy of the RCR with the file provided by the HR department;
Validate probation and/or adaptation periods under your management in agreement with the RS.
Service Management:
Validate the production monitoring schedule and the various activities for which you are responsible (task distribution);
Manage the integration of co-activities within your scope (entry-validation intervention sheet);
Participate in weekly activity monitoring meetings;
Prepare and lead activity monitoring meetings with the client (PRM - Progress Review Meeting);
Present the indicators;
Support the different Lean projects.
Financial Management:
Monitor budgetary commitments and alert your RS of any risk of deviation;
Ensure monitoring and transmission of elements related to turnover (deliverables, indicators, etc.);
Control costs, turnover, and profits;
Establish or verify delivery notes for validation with the RS;
Produce the technical and financial elements for RAO (Bid Review);
Participate in budget preparation;
Follow up with the DO on Change Proposals and orders;
Optimize the service.
Material Management:
Ensure the management and adequacy of the computer fleet and general means (PPE, tools, etc.) with needs;
Ensure the management of ECME (Control and Measurement Equipment subject to calibration) is carried out for services.
Reporting
Client:
Become the primary contact for the Client;
Present, at the Client's request, a detailed state of quality monitoring;
Present during the PRM (Progress Review Meeting) the service monitoring (improvement plan, KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), risk analysis, etc.);
Report to the RS in case of simple contractual issues.
Hierarchical Superior:
Propose improvements in Quality-Health-Safety-Environment Management;
Report major difficulties encountered;
Support the continuous improvement axes defined by the company's quality policy;
Propose to the hierarchical superior the different resource adaptations according to workload variations (implementation of new staff or assignment modifications by project);
Monitor the activity and report it to the direct hierarchical superior (report, elements for turnover realization, production schedule, indicators, etc.);
Participate in meetings with the hierarchical superior;
Ensure commercial monitoring;
Inform of any customer complaint;
Inform of any workplace accident;
Inform of any risk of social movement.
Human Resources:
Ensure upward and downward communication;
Guarantee the management of arrivals/departures of an employee;
Inform of any risk of social movement;
Ensure compliance with the legal framework.
Quality Department:
Report any malfunctions in quality procedures;
Ensure procedures are followed;
Take necessary actions to resolve any discrepancies identified during audits;
Communicate information when new staff are implemented or assignments are modified by project;
Prepare responses to customer complaints and present them if necessary.

B/ Required Skills
Training - Experience:
Job accessible through internal promotion or ACI (Internal Candidate Appeal);
Or from level IV with an aeronautical specialty;
And technical aeronautical training;
Or military qualification BS type;
And confirmed professional experience in the job or reference jobs from 5 to 8 years.
