Job description
Torch Technologies is seeking an Application Software Journeyman within the Business Enterprise Systems Field Assistance Service (FAS). The FAS provides consolidated 24/7/365 system support to the warfighter worldwide. We accomplish this by serving as the primary point of contact for help desk support for over 450 DoD CONUS and OCONUS sites, providing enterprise-wide systematic troubleshooting, mature repeatable processes, and total ticket visibility. The FAS provides customizable incident management, deficiency tracking, enterprise-wide metrics and trend analysis, user message notification, and automated call distribution support to the Department of Defense and Mission Partners. This position supports AFLCMC/GBO at Gunter Maxwell, AL. Responsibilities: This position requires a highly motivated individual with experience to include the below job duties: Advise and support work that involves the design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and support of new or existing applications software. The functions required to be performed in this specialty may include: • Following/leading an Agile methodology, e.g., scrum, Kanban, XP, and hybrid; • Analyzing and refining systems requirements; • Translating systems requirements into applications prototypes; • Planning and designing systems architecture; • Determining and designing applications architecture; • Determining output media/formats; • Designing user, systems(s) interfaces; • Working with customers to test applications; • Assuring software and systems quality and functionality; • Integrating hardware and software components; • Writing, reviewing, and maintaining program documentation; • Evaluating new applications software technologies such as containerization and the use of Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, configuration as code, microservices, standard application program interfaces (API), continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), and maximizing the automation of the software development lifecycle (SDLC); or, • Ensuring the rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices to the delivery of application software services Job Requirements Required Qualifications: Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must have an active Secret security clearance. Must maintain clearance at required level. BMC Remedy Requirements: Primary Experience developing, debugging, and testing customized Remedy workflow on one or more medium to large Remedy instance(s), Minimum 7 years AR System v9 or higher, Minimum 4 years Remedy ITSM v9 or higher Servicedesk, Discovery, Smart IT, Digital Workplace, Atrium/CMDB, Minimum 7 years Microsoft SQL Server 2014 and higher, Minimum 10 years SQL relational database management, Minimum 7 years APIs, OLEs, SSOs, .asp/java interfaces, Strong test script and report skills; strong requirements/design/change/implementation documentation skills; strong Remedy form, field, workflow, and permissions development and integrations; strong Remedy module to module interface and integration familiarity; strong Remedy API interface development to third party app skills Preferred experience: BMC Administration / Developer certification(s), Full BMC Remedy ITSM suite v18 or higher, One or more full BMC platform upgrades, HTML/.asp/.jsp website development, Familiarity with Air Force network infrastructure Contractor shall ensure personnel performing activities have the appropriate, and remain current with, technical and/or management certifications to ensure compliance as directed by DoDD 8140.01, DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (Security+) • Bachelor's or master's Degree in a related field and at least three years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, three of which must be in the DoD • OR, seven years of directly related experience with proper certifications, five of which must be in the DoD.
