Chenega Services & Federal Solutions, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services' company, is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Functional Expert (Oracle Software) to provide technical support, chiefly on site, to the EPA Office of Radiation and Indoor Air (ORIA) National Analytical Radiation Environmental Laboratory (NAREL) in Montgomery, AL. NAREL provides services to a wide range of clients, including other EPA offices and federal and state agencies. NAREL facilities incorporate state-of-the-art laboratory technology and equipment and include the latest health and safety techniques, as well as strict monitoring and control of laboratory emissions.

NAREL staff are highly trained professionals with backgrounds in health physics, radiochemistry, engineering, biology, mathematics, computer science and other disciplines. Fundamental to the NAREL mission is the commitment to developing and applying the most advanced methods for measuring environmental radioactivity and evaluating its risk to the public.

Responsibilities

  • Provide highly technical expertise, guidance, and development in performance of complex, large-scale projects, related to current and legacy Oracle products and software
  • Provided subject matter expert recommendations and possible solutions for duties described in this PWS
  • Develop, maintain, and update related RDRA databases for the RadNet program
  • Test and deliver software changes and documentation per Federal Guidelines
  • Prepare functional web development specifications as required
  • Lead technical projects
  • Conduct periodic written and/or oral status reviews, presentations, and briefings
  • Provide test plans for projects when required
  • Integrate with software development tasks to insure operational capability for Oracle products
  • Integrate all changes into the existing proprietary applications and software
  • Support Agency-developed applications and emerging technologies as required
  • Provide complete and finalized documentation after project about changes, implementations and provide training if necessary

Qualifications

  • A Bachelors degree in a related technical discipline/field with at least eight (8) years of experience. Or ten (10) years of experience in performing tasks in functional area, nine (9) years shall be within the past ten (10) years.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment with related equipment (testing water, soil, air) preferred.
  • Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional or comparable preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
  • Shall be a citizen of the U.S.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Skills in managing and prioritizing multiple assignments with strict deadlines and ability to coordinate efforts among many offices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Expertise to prepare and present information/data via oral briefing(s) and/or by written reports.
