Job description

The Dublin, GA VA Medical Center is seeking a full-time BE/BC Psychiatrist to provide primary health service delivery to an outpatient veteran population.

Positions are located at the Dublin, GA VA Medical Center and at the Albany, GA Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC).

Work Schedule: M-F 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

The Psychiatrist will provide primary health service delivery to an outpatient or residential rehabilitation treatment program veteran population at the Dublin Medical Center or Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC).

Assigned duties include individual and family therapy. Will be required to provide tele mental health services.

Treatment will include comprehensive assessments of the physical, psychiatric, emotional, and social needs of individuals with diagnosis including (but not limited to): psychosis, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and organic mental illness.

Therapeutic and clinical services associated with this position will include treatment planning, medication management, and other specialized services as needed.

Candidates should be proficient in differential diagnosis, pharmacological interventions, psychotherapeutic services, and behavioral interventions and have experience/training working with adults.

Experience working with veterans diagnosed with PTSD is desirable.

Adheres to operational policies and procedures as established by VA leadership and the Mental Health Service Line Director.

Facilitates liaisons with other health care programs in order to effectively coordinate services.

Complies with national and local performance measures, including timely health care screening and completion of clinical reminders for all patients.

Complies with all CPRS documentation procedures, including timeliness standards for documentation and proper patient check out procedures.

Attends and participates in administrative and informational meetings held by the Mental Health Service Line Director (or designee) and facility Director.

Attends regular Mental Health Service staff meetings, Medical Staff meetings, and complies with Mental Health Service Line peer review procedures.

Salary Range: Up to $240,000.00 per year

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Psychiatrist: Applicant must be proficient in spoken and written English

Possess/maintain a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the U.S. or the District of Columbia

Meet physical requirements for the position.

A degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine, degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible Psychiatry.

You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.

You must have a certification, licensure, or registration credentials in licensure for this position. In some cases, these may be substituted for experience and education.
