Support Equipment Mechanic This position requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI)/Yankee White clearance or the ability to obtain a TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI)/Yankee White clearance to be considered. As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen. The role involves repairing Ground Support Equipment (GSE) according to established processes and policies. Using various tools, including digital multi-meters and oscilloscopes, technicians troubleshoot GSE malfunctions. They prepare equipment for storage and transportation, maintain records using automated systems, and service GSE components. Technicians also inspect, test, and operate equipment, perform maintenance tasks, handle hazardous materials responsibly, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Additionally, they maintain vehicle records and provide dispatch service for GSE, prioritizing safety and adherence to protocols. Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for Support Equipment Mechanic: Pay commensurate with experience. Support Equipment Mechanic Responsibilities Include: Repair Ground Support Equipment (GSE) according to established processes and policies. Troubleshoot GSE malfunctions using a variety of tools including digital and conventional multi-meters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes. Prepare GSE for storage and transportation. Utilize automated maintenance data systems to maintain equipment records and document maintenance actions. Maintain external fuel and grounding systems on GSE. Perform both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GSE. Inspect, test, and operate GSE to determine serviceability and proper operation. Service GSE with various fluids including fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air. Disassemble and assemble malfunctioning GSE accessories and components. Remove, disassemble, repair, clean, treat for corrosion, assemble, and reinstall GSE components and accessories. Stencil and mark GSE in accordance with technical publications. Store, handle, label, use, and dispose of hazardous materials and waste in compliance with environmental standards and regulations. Operate, clean, inspect, and service GSE towing vehicles. Maintain vehicle records and update paper and electronic equipment records. Provide dispatch service for GSE, including positioning equipment to support aircraft maintenance and flying operations. Additionally, practice good housekeeping, tool control, FOD prevention, and safety at all times. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Support Equipment Mechanic Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: Minimum of four (4) years in field relevant to position description. Must have completed corrosion control training. Must be knowledgeable of supply procedures. Ability to apply corrosion control techniques effectively. Supply Procedures: Knowledge of supply procedures to ensure efficient inventory management. Cutting and welding experience preferred. Technical Expertise: Demonstrated knowledge and experience relevant to the position description. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and solve issues related to corrosion control and supply procedures. Implement Corrosion Control Measures: Apply corrosion control techniques to prevent and mitigate corrosion damage. Inventory Management: Ensure adherence to supply procedures for efficient management of inventory.
