Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated PRN Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team on an as-needed basis. This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to work collaboratively with experienced physical therapists to deliver high-quality rehabilitative care across diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Physical Therapists in conducting patient evaluations, including assessment of movement, strength, balance, and functional abilities.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, incorporating therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities to improve patients' physical function.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, outcomes, and responses to treatment interventions.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, activities, and home exercise programs to promote continuity of care and maximize rehabilitation outcomes.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated patient care and optimize treatment outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Alabama.
  • CPR certification (BLS).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a Physical Therapist Assistant in a healthcare setting, preferably in rehabilitation, outpatient clinics, or skilled nursing facilities.
  • Knowledge of physical therapy principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and documentation practices.
