Job description

Satellite System Operator/Maintainer II - Clear, Alaska Location: Clear Space Force Station (SFS) Clear, AK Salary: $90,000 - $131,000 Must hold active TS with SCI eligibility Clearance. This is an in-person position (telework is not available). Network Operations Manager: Chosen for expertise in real-time management of operational SATCOM networks, assessing and mitigating adverse impacts in time-critical circumstances based on prioritization of missions/users. Assist in providing space-enabled, secure communications capabilities to polar users to support national objectives. Provide assistance and support with telemetry and control, mission planning, and cryptographic planning for the EPS payload. EPS OMII Role: Perform day-to-day satellite payload operations and management, oversee user authorizations and de-authorizations, over-the-air rekey (OTAR), configuration and operations of numerous SATCOM networks, real-time network monitoring, and change implementation based on mission changes and needs. Will service various requests for assessment, data, and operational payload configuration adjustment from users, communications planners, mission commanders, and other EPS stakeholders as authorized (e.g., requests from USSTRATCOM, SUBLANT, NCTAMSPAC/LANT, etc.), delivering and affecting real-time satellite operations. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Perform ground system and payload state of health assessments. Implementation/ development of procedures, data analysis, and other activities on operational/ non-operationally accepted equipment. Recommend changes to current/ future operations procedures and training documentation supporting EPS-R. Support system engineering and integration assessments on new program requirements. Execute daily mission schedule activities and payload planning. Support cryptologic planning functions in support of the mission. Provide payload performance monitoring and status updates on outage information and payload heath to the customer. Assist system engineer with documentation support for contract deliverables. Coordinate with the host on payload troubleshooting issues. EDUCATION/TRAINING IAM II (CompTia Sec +) Minimum: High School Diploma Preferred: Bachelor's Degree REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS 3 years' experience in SATCOM Operations/ Maintenance Experience in operations center processes Capable of autonomously performing all known tasks, can assist and train others, and lead small, scoped activities with known tasks, conditions, and parameters. PREFERED SKILLS/ABILITIES Real-time ground systems operations experience for GEO/HEO and LEO spacecraft. Prior military experience as a Cryptologic Technician or Electronics Technician, Digital Wideband Systems Maintainer, Command and Control Systems Operator, or Satellite Communications System Operator/ Maintainer.
