Job description

In this pivotal Quality Manager role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the high standards of paint and powder coating processes. This position involves overseeing quality assurance activities, performing inspections, and conducting audits to ensure adherence to customer requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage and maintain documentation such as job travelers, quality management system records, and certifications.
  • Perform inspections for in-process and initial plating, painting, and powder coating stages.
  • Address nonconformance issues, process tags, and coordinate with customers for resolutions.
  • Use various measurement tools, including thickness gauges and gloss meters, to assess finish quality.
  • Execute quality inspections and sampling according to specified guidelines.
  • Interpret and apply customer, military, and chemical processing standards.
  • Review technical drawings and orders to ensure finishing requirements are met.
  • Oversee equipment calibration and maintain tracking systems.
  • Lead efforts in continuous improvement and handle additional tasks or projects as needed.

Qualifications:


  • Basic familiarity with NADCAP and Quality Management Systems is expected.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in a quality or production role within the finishing industry is required.
  • Formal quality training or ASQ certification would be advantageous.
  • Experience with supervisory responsibilities in a manufacturing setting is necessary.
  • The ability to interpret and understand technical prints and finishing requirements is essential.
  • Knowledge of chemical processes, paint, or powder coating is important.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and ERP systems is preferred.
