Basic Qualifications Requires a Bachelor's or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent (4 years job-related experience). Requires an additional 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of job-related experience. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. Responsibilities for this Position Responsibilities for this Position: General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an immediate opening for a Lab Manager to join our Center of Excellence. This position provides an opportunity to work directly with some of our nation's fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to secure clients information systems and their contents. In the Lab Manager capacity, the candidate will be responsible for all the equipment, configuration, maintenance and operation of the MUOS labs. In the Asset Custodian capacity, the candidate will be responsible for the ownership, tracking, location, new incoming, and dispositioning of lab assets to include Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), COMSEC, and Classified Assets. To fill both roles, the candidate must be a detail-oriented, highly motivated individual, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Due to our fast-paced environment, the Lab Manager & Asset Custodian needs to be self-motivated to complete work with minimal direction. As a Lab Manager, the candidate will need to come up to speed quickly on company policy and procedures on procuring new and dispositioning old assets at all security levels of the equipment. The candidate will also be responsible to validate Clearance Levels and proper Training Certifications of Team Members requiring access to the Labs and DoD Closed Areas. The multiple lab environments will need to meet all customer and GDMS safety and security processes and procedures. Key Responsibilities Ensure day to day operations of Capital and GFE lab equipment, ensuring safe operation of equipment and use Instruct team members in lab procedures, movement of asset policy, and enforce the lab rules Procure, install, track, operate and maintain equipment Perform audits of all GFE, COMSEC, Classified Assets and provide output to Property Management and the Classified Materials Control Center (CMCC) Maintain Access Lists to DoD Closed Areas and validate that the Clearance Levels and Training Certifications are met Coordinate Lab Maintenance with Facilities and Outside Vendors to include Air Handlers, Power, UPS Battery Backup, Security Alarms, Cleaning, Lighting Excellent customer service and communication skills as well as the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communications skills that enable the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment Basic Qualifications The Lab Manager position requires a Bachelor's of Science degree or Technology degree or the equivalent experience, and a minimum of eight years of related experience. The successful candidate must possess: A passion for excellence and continued learning Flexibility and a tolerance for change (and the ability to manage it) in dynamic program development environments 8+ years managing Engineering Labs Experience interfacing with customers Energetic and Self-motivated Preferred Qualifications Have a good working knowledge of the MUOS system as a whole and specific expertise in at least one of the MUOS areas: GIS/Core, NMS, RAN, RF, SCS, IA Telecommunications or satellite program experience Target salary range: USD $83,185.00/Yr. - USD $141,415.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary.
