System Design and Architecture (SDA) is an exciting and challenging environment where you will have the opportunity to design, develop and partner with multi-disciplines to shape innovative solutions for our customers. Join our organization and experience the Systems V engineering life cycle while interfacing with a variety of engineering disciplines, subject matter experts, chief engineers, chief technologists, the customer and so much more to ensure we design, integrate, and build our systems to work the first time and every time for our warfighters! This position is an onsite role.
This position can be a Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate Technical Intern based on the candidate's qualifications and standing as outlined below: (Junior Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program and classified as a Junior by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment
(Senior Technical Intern)- must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program and classified as a Senior by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment
(Post-Graduate Technical Intern) - must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications You Must Have) by start of internshipWhat You Will Do:
As a System Design Intern within SDA, you will develop CONOPS, system architecture, system requirements and manage qualification, verification and validation. You will also perform functional / physical analysis, allocation, and trade studies. You will support engineering testing, integration and flight-testing, production, system deployment, and post deployment support across the product lifecycle. Through Digital Transformation (DTx) you will perform these functions using a variety of methods and enabling technologies, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Agile product development.
Qualifications You Must Have: Must be a Junior, Senior, or Post-Graduate standing by Summer 2025
Pursuing a BS, MS or Post Graduation Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearanceQualifications We Prefer: Specific majors: Systems Engineering or related scientific or STEM discipline
3.00 cumulative GPA required.
Experience or coursework in System Design
Matlab and/or C++ experience Modeling and Simulation experience
Ability to analyze issues and define solutions
Strong communication skills including effective written, verbal, and listening skills Self-starter with the ability to independently pursue information and solve problems Basic Engineering skills and interest in how systems are developed and functionWhat We Offer:

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
