Raytheon has an exciting opening for a Principal Contracts Specialist supporting the Loitering Portfolio within the Land & Air Defense Systems (LADS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU). This position focuses on Contract Execution, Contract Closeout, Government Property Transfers with our US Government customer. This portfolio is a growth engine for Raytheon's LADS SBU. This position offers you a broad opportunity to engage in product development, production and sustainment contract activities. We are looking for a Contracts professional that is passionate about relationships and collaboration. The successful candidate will have strong prior US Government Contracting experience and is capable of working in a fast-paced environment. This is an on-site position. Employees who are working in on-site roles will work primarily on-site (from Raytheon office). The Program team resides predominantly in AZ. What You Will Do: General contract administration.
Guides team regarding application of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) requirements/compliance.
Discusses contractual terms and conditions, including R&O, with the proposal team and key stakeholders during contracts start-up and throughout the contract's life cycle, including closeout.
Identifies commitment and/or contractual requirement issues.
Supports financial forecasting process to include analysis and recommendations on awards, sales, operating margin, and cash.
Ensures compliance, review, and delivery of the compliant/fully approved proposal/offer.
Identifies and implements improvements to functional processes to ensure the organization's compliance and effectiveness.
Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires, a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience
Experience with managing or administering US Government contracts, FAR and / or DFAR
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer: Uses strong knowledge of DoD acquisition life cycle, acquisition policies and regulations under DFAR Works confidently and independently with internal and external partners
Communicates with clarity using simple language and sticks to concrete, specific information
Understands proprietary information requirements and other compliance requirements such as government property, global trade, privacy, etc.
Demonstrates the ability to interpret and communicate contract requirements
Ensures the contract document accurately reflects the agreement of the parties and the scope of work and acceptance criteria are fully understood
Demonstrates an understanding of proposal methodologies and financial metrics, including the financial implications that the decisions have on the company (e.g., relationship of risks, opportunities, and profit margin)
Provides resolution of routine business or technical issues by identifying solutions and recommending a course of action
Influences others within the work area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices
Demonstrates knowledge of latest acquisition-related legislation, rules, regulations, and their contractual impact to the business
Past experience in a position requiring multi-tasking and handling several assignments concurrently

More information about Security Clearances can be found on the US Department of State government website here: The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
