Job description

Job Title: Bus Driver CODE: HNC14

Qualifications: Must have a CDL, Have a clean driving record/no criminal history, pass a physical and a drug test (Drug Test are random at any given time) enjoys working with young people, be able to lift 30lbs, able to sit 2-4 hours a day while driving, walking/standing up to an hour a day, reaching above head, bend or stoop, able to read and write, able to work in all weather conditions, and able to read/understand road signs.

Reports To: Transportation Director

Supervises: Students assigned to their bus route.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Keep bus clean
• Any problems with bus report to Transportation Director immediately.
• Fill out bus trip forms daily/turn in to director.
• Fueling bus, must record amounts in the bus office.
• Keeping students quiet and in a sitting down facing the front of the bus. Students who does not comply will be given a verbal warning the first time and will be written up the second time. The third offense is grounds to be dismissed from the bus.
• Checking the bus passes when a student is admitted to your bus. Make sure they are on the right bus. If a student does not have a bus pass radio the office. Keep all bus passes.
• If anyone passes the bus while you have your "reds" on then you must turn it in to the Transportation Director within 24 hours. He will then turn it in to the proper theories.
• Must have two bus evacuation per year, one each semester.
• No cell phone use, unless bus is properly secure and it is an emergency.
• Must attend state bus workshop every year

Terms of Employment: Contract 176 days.
