Job Description:

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery

Location: Arkansas

Responsibilities:
  • Pre-Labor Assessment: Assess patients' physical and emotional well-being, monitor vital signs, and gather relevant medical history.
  • Labor Support: Provide continuous support to laboring mothers, including coaching, pain management techniques, and emotional support.
  • Delivery Assistance: Assist with the delivery of newborns, ensuring the safety and well-being of both mother and child.
  • Postpartum Care: Monitor mothers and newborns in the immediate postpartum period, assessing vital signs, uterine contractions, and breastfeeding progress.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to obstetrical emergencies, such as preterm labor, fetal distress, or postpartum hemorrhage, with prompt and effective interventions.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documenting all patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Education: Provide education to patients and families about the childbirth process, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • At least 2 years of L&D experience.
  • Valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Arkansas (or eligible for licensure).
  • Current AHA BLS certification.
