Job description
Duties Perform IT project management to deliver information technology products, services, or systems in support of EUCOM objectives. Perform IT policy and planning to include strategic planning, policy and standards development, resource management, funding strategies, knowledge management, auditing and information security management. Regularly briefs senior USEUCOM staff on project status and significant developments. Represents the ECJ6 Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) at meetings and conferences involving senior level personnel throughout DOD, other government agencies and private industry. Requirements Conditions of Employment One year trial/probationary period may be required. Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Visit Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time. This position has been designated Mission Essential. Mission Essential - In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations. This position requires the incumbent to work alternative duty schedules - Rotating Shifts, Extended shifts (12.5 hours) - nights, weekends, and/or holidays, recall for urgent situations and/or working both planned and unscheduled overtime. Drug Test - This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident. This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) for the duration of employment. This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis. Project Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Note: To support the Time in Grade (TIG) requirement you must submit a copy of your latest non-award SF-50/NPA that reflects your highest grade held on a permanent basis along with your application/resume package. Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions.
