Position: Accounting Manager
Location: Texarkana, TX
Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
JOB SUMMARY: The Accounting Manager and their staff maintain the company's general ledger, tracking assets, liabilities, expenses, and revenue. Oversees monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close and financial reporting. Influences and drives company decision making by developing models that assist management in understanding the financial impact of business decisions. In addition, is responsible for the protection of the assets through proper recording of transactions, compliance with regulations and regulatory agencies, acting upon cost saving opportunities, and compliance with internal control procedures. Importantly, this individual will work with the senior leadership to identify ways to improve the overall performance of the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting Responsibilities:
- Issue monthly and annual financial statements reporting on variances to budget and prior year.
- Complete monthly management reporting that is detailed and demonstrates trends in various areas of the business.
- Works with parent company to ensure satisfactory completion of the annual audit by the company's outside public accounting firm.
- Partners with parent company to implement methods and processes to ensure reporting requirements are met, analysis are completed, and internal control and audit requirements are in place.
- Partner in the development and implementation of company plans and AYMs to maximize growth and income.
- Keep senior leadership informed on Company's performance and provide advice on financial matters.
- Prepare special reports and analysis to support company decision making.
- Assists in the identification of potential income improvement ideas, developing supporting plans to implement and monitoring results
- Maintain and update the company's cost accounting system and methods
- Ensure company's ERP system accurately accounts for sales, cost of sales, and inventory values.
- Manage policy and business needs when approving credit to customers. Recommend steps to be taken to protection against default and minimize accounts receivable balances.
- Assist purchasing, as needed, to obtain the best price and terms with suppliers. Ensure compliance to agreed upon supplier price and terms in accordance with company policy and internal controls.
- Identify and monitor appropriate levels of inventory
- Manage a staff responsible for Cost Accounting, Decision Support, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
- Carry out department management functions, including but not limited to approving timecards and PTO requests, leading weekly departmental meetings, and holding bi- weekly one on one meetings.
- Assist staff in efficient and effective performance of departmental responsibilities and achievement of all department AYMs.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the annual budget and other financial forecasts, implementing and maintaining other planning and control procedures.
- Work effectively with department heads and parent company to complete budgeting and forecasting.
- Coordinate with parent company to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, Local, Payroll and other applicable taxes.
- Ensure that records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

- Working knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems and well- developed financial analysis capabilities.

- Participative management style advocating the team concept. Good communication skills, written and verbal.
- Results oriented with strong attention to detail.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with a strong desire for CPA certification and Masters degree. Minimum of ten years working experience or commensurate experience.
Experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred.
