The Role
The Digital Marketplace Manager will be responsible for managing and nurturing strategic partnerships with online marketplaces and third-party exchanges through a joint business planning process an in alignment with category specific growth strategies aligned to the annual operating plan (AOP). This role focuses on operational excellence to ensure effective digital media deployment in collaboration with the Director of Digital Marketing. The individual will serve as the primary liaison with key marketplace partners, managing contract negotiations, terms, inventory, channel enforcement, forecasting, and partnering with the supply chain for demand planning.
This position will provide insights, competitive intelligence, surface and quantify additional category growth opportunities on platform to the commercial team and support the brand team in defining goals and objectives specific to each platform. Additionally, the Digital Marketplace Manager will be accountable for conducting weekly business reviews with key partners and reporting performance, risks and opportunities to the executive leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
Marketplace & Partner Management:
Serve as the key point of contact for online marketplace and third-party exchange partnerships.
Manage contract negotiations, terms, and ongoing agreements with marketplace partners.
Oversee inventory management, demand forecasting, and channel enforcement to ensure proper execution across platforms.
Partner with supply chain teams to ensure effective demand planning and inventory forecasting.
Lead weekly business reviews with each partner to ensure operational excellence and performance alignment.
Identify potential new or underserved marketplaces
Lead an effective ad and on-platform media strategy in alignment with Metagenics Global Brand and Category strategy
Operational Excellence:
Collaborate closely with the Director of Digital Marketing to ensure seamless digital media deployment and effective campaign execution.
Monitor and communicate competitive insights on marketplace activities, offering strategic recommendations to the commercial and brand teams.
Ensure channel compliance with internal policies and maintain a strong focus on achieving key performance indicators (KPIs).
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Partner with supply chain, brand, and commercial teams to align goals and strategies with marketplace performance.
Provide data-driven insights and performance reviews to stakeholders, contributing to the overall commercial strategy.
Support the brand team in defining objectives specific to digital marketplaces, ensuring that each platform contributes effectively to broader business goals.
Play a pivotal role in go-to-market marketplace strategy for new product launches
Travel:
Occasional travel required to meet with key partners and stakeholders (up to 10%).
Basic Requirements
Experience / Training / Education
A minimum 5+ years' experience managing a third party marketplace
A minimum of 5+ years' experience in a commercial leadership role preferred
Proven experience in managing strategic partnerships with online marketplaces and third-party exchange and leading comprehensive joint business plan creation.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Deep understanding of digital marketing and the operational requirements for successful digital media deployment.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, especially with marketing, supply chain, and brand teams.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to provide competitive insights and strategic recommendations.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required
Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience strongly preferred
A Scientific or Medical background is a plus
Knowledge of
Metagenics products highly desirable
eCommerce and ERP systems
Internal processes and procedures for planning, inventory, accounts receivable, and collections
Customer service, distributors, and front-office procedures
Good communication skills with the ability to attract and retain quality employees
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
Knowledge of nutrition/health food industry a plus
Skills/Abilities
Vast strategic skill set including product bundling, vertical markets, brand management, E-commerce
Excellent planning and problem-solving skills
Uses independent and decisive judgment in directing and managing staff activities
Compensation
The current range for this role based out of Aliso Viejo, CA is $121,000/yr. to $150,000/yr.
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.

A minimum of three workdays per week are to be conducted at the Aliso Viejo office (). We will also consider candidates who are out-of-state that are able to work remote, across different time-zones depending on the right experience and fitment for this position.
