Job description

Under the supervision of the VP, Healthcare Operations, the Director, Healthcare Initiative performs project management for key strategic initiatives, including design, development and spread of new service lines and businesses, implementation of key operational initiatives, and support for partnerships and acquisitions. In this role you will identify key business issues, develop effective action plans and implement them to achieve initiative goals. This position will work to validate financial forecasts and provide on-going reconciliation of resources and other related program expenditures to meet pro-forma and budgeted goals. You will be responsible for initiative relationships with HumanGood leadership and external partners as it relates to assigned initiatives. You will track performance results of assigned initiatives in the areas of financial sustainability, quality and outcomes performance, regulatory compliance, and team and resident satisfaction, equating to overall initiative success.

  • Consult with all levels including senior management, make recommendations, and influence decision-making.
  • Plan and implement multiple and extremely complex healthcare projects/programs spanning across business areas.
  • Define and deliver projects on agreed-to dimensions of budget, timeline, and quality, as set by senior management and project steering committees.
  • Develop and manage effective communication strategies for senior leaders related to these programs.
  • Act as the leader for project steering committees, addressing alignment with strategic goals and navigating complex and matrixed internal workflows and relationships to deliver successful outcomes. Lead the planning, preparation, and content for steering committee meetings.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders in operations (community leadership and VP, Operations) and CSC departments (i.e., finance, IT, HR, buildings and grounds, healthcare quality and regulatory, legal, business development) to ensure alignment and resourcing necessary to drive initiative success.
  • Develop and maintain strong working partnerships with key external stakeholders, including partners, vendors, regulators, and payers.
  • Identify and track project risks, develop mitigation strategies and recommend to leadership. Escalate issues to senior management as appropriate.
  • Evaluate key performance indicators, provide ongoing reports, and recommend business plan updates

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Academic degree in health administration, public health, business, or management. Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum ten (10) years of progressive experience in leading complex healthcare programs and initiatives
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office systems
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
  • Ability to travel about 25% of the time

Compensation: $131-145K depending on experience and location + performance-based bonus

Location: Candidates must be located in a state in which HumanGood operates; preferred locations are the greater Los Angeles or San Francisco areas.
