Summary About the Position: This is a military technician position with the 63rd Readiness Division, Equipment Concentration Site 171 located at Barstow, California. This position requires an active membership as a Soldier in the Army Reserve before a start date can be set. Establish deadlines and priorities based of work schedules and policies established by higher levels of supervision. Explain work requirements, methods, and procedures; instruct subordinates in the new procedures; and provide advice when problems arise. Review in-progress and completed work for adequate quantity and quality. Investigate work related productivity problems and identify corrective actions that can be implemented for improvement. Identify employee training needs and initiate recommendations to provide necessary training. Develop performance standards; counsel employees on performance; make formal and informal performance appraisals. Interview candidates for vacancies and recommend selections. Maintain production reports and records. Operate the full range of gasoline and diesel powered vehicles. Perform operator's maintenance on all vehicles in accordance with established rules and regulations. To meet the screen-out element, applicants should document experience or show the ability to do the following: skill in workforce planning, training and employee development; administrative and employee management; operation of motor vehicles; prioritize workload based on future deadlines; identifying training needs; and operating the full range of gasoline and diesel powered vehicles. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Lead or Supervise Administration and Management Operation of Motor Vehicles Planning and Evaluating Training and Employee Development Physical Effort Required: Performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas that require the worker to stand, stoop, bend, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Work at a rapid pace for long periods of time. Moderate physical effort is used in operating hand and foot controls when driving, turning, stopping and starting the forklifts and motor vehicles and in raising, lowering and tilting the forklift loads. Working Conditions: Subject to working out-of-doors during periods of inclement weather. Is exposed to serious injuries while operating vehicles over public roads and on the installation. Works on concrete floors and in drafty areas. May be exposed to fumes, fluids, dirt, battery acids, etc., resulting in bruises, cuts, burns, and skin irritation. Wearing of hearing protection and other safety equipment is required during all periods of exposure to hazardous conditions. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Direct deposit of pay is required. This is a Logistics Career Field position. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
