Job description

Duties You will monitor and troubleshoot all Marine Corps Electronic Security Systems, Intrusion Detection System, alarm, mass notification and CCTV systems installed and annunciating at the Provost Marshal Office/Marine Corps Police Department. You will receive and process incoming fire alarms, 911 calls, emergency and non-emergency requests for police, fire, medical emergencies, airfield emergencies, and environmental and hazardous materials incidents. You will dispatch personnel and apparatus to the scene of emergencies, record pertinent data, events, and logs, and initiate pre-arrival instructions to callers for fire, medical, and police emergencies. You will monitor status and availability of police, fire, and medical field units to assure an appropriate response is made. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing. This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision. You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license. Requires the ability to meet legal requirements for carrying a firearm. Must pass all weapons qualifications tests prior to assigned duties and responsibilities and must pass all re-qualifications as required. You must obtain the following certifications within the first year of employment and maintain them without lapse throughout employment: First Aid, CPF, EMO Protocols and Certifications. You must complete all required trainings. You will be required to pass the Police Applicant Suitability Review (PASR) Investigation. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Qualifications GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Receiving and processing 911 calls of incoming fire alarms, emergency, and non-emergency calls for fire, medical, and police assistance; 2) Dispatching appropriate emergency personnel and apparatus utilizing emergency dispatch and radio communications; and 3) Providing information and initiating directions to incoming callers. GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Receiving and processing 911 calls of incoming fire alarms, emergency, and non-emergency calls for fire, medical, and police assistance; 2) Dispatching appropriate emergency personnel and apparatus utilizing emergency dispatch and radio communications; and 3) Providing information and initiating directions to incoming callers; and 4) Coordinating with local and state public safety agencies. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
